Education and Faith Forming

Two Adult Sunday School Classes-Year Round:
Seasons of the Spirit - 9:15-10:15 AM Sunday, A Biblical and theological reflection on the lectionary (Sunday's Bible lessons).
Adult Sunday School - 9:15-10:15 AM Sunday, A second adult Sunday School class does short term studies such as, "Three Simple Rules" by Iowa's former Bishop Rueben Job; a Bible Study, an Advent Study, and Lenten Study. We have studied, "Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations" by Bishop Robert Schnase, are now studying his follow-up book titled, "The Balancing Act, A Daily Rediscovery of Grace."

Women's Fellowship & Study - meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 9:15 am at the church. Max Lucado is a favorite author for study for this group. Contact Marianne Spaur 641-792-4686 for information.

L.I.P. Service (also known as Prayer Chain) - A group that believes in the power of prayer, meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the church. If you feel called to become a member of this power packed group, let Pastor Audrey or Pam know or come to the meeting.  To start the prayer chain call or email Pastor Audrey or Pam Andrews (641-792-9583).

UMW - United Methodist Women

Meeting Schedule - 3rd Wednesday night of the month, August - May, 6:45 pm, with fellowship, food, and study of current UMW program. Guests are always welcome.

Men's Study and Fellowship meets from 6:15-7 am on Wednesday mornings.  Breakfast and conversation, and current happenings in men's lives.  Please contact C.J. Osborn (641-792-9095) or Osborn@pcpartner.net, if you would like more information.

Men's Fellowship and Outreach Group, especially for men who are retired, but all men are welcome, meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. for supper, fellowship and outreach conversation.  Current outreach projects include volunteering at the Angel Food Distribution Site one Saturday each month.  Contact Harry Jones at 641-792-4758 for more information.

Other choirs can be organized.  We have had chime choirs, a men's choir, a women's choir and a Christmas band at various times through the years.  To participate or lead, call Jan Lewis, 641-792-3662, rivers4@netins.net.

Social

Baby Boomers - Baby boomers, near-boomers or boomer-wanabees get together every other month or so for a variety of social activities. Dining out, bonfires and Christmas parties are just a sampling of their previous activities.
This group meets on an irregular basis.

Sandwich Bunch
For those of you older and wiser than the baby-boomers there's Sandwich Bunch. They meet on Sunday evenings once a month for dinner and fellowship through social activities, presentations and lectures.
